1. What types of memorial markers do you offer?

Along with bronze flat markers, we also offer a large selection of granite grass, hickey, slant, and upright monuments.

MONUMENTS: are a 2 piece memorial (a straight upright tablet that sits on a matching granite base

SLANTED MARKERS: are similar to upright monuments, except they slope at a steep angle, with a wide bottom that does not require the granite base.

GRASS MARKERS: are flat stones, installed flush to the ground

*note that some cemeteries have certain requirements

2. Once my stone is ordered, how long will it take to be installed?

We will notify you when the work has been completed. Nowadays, we cannot promise any time frame due to delays in shipping, etc. It could take several months to a year for installation.

3. Can I have any design I want?

Provided that there's enough room on your stone, virtually any design can be added. We have a large assortment of designs to choose from, or we can customize the design to your specifications. Some of the most popular themes include florals, religious, occupations, hobbies, and nature. In most cases, any design you choose is included in the original price. Only if you decide to add a detailed etching or ceramic picture, get a deeply sculpted or complicated design, would there be any increase in cost.

4. Do I have to pay for my stone in full when I order?

While most stones are paid in full at the time of order, we only require 1/2 deposit down before we order in your stone, with the balance being due upon completion.

5. Can I have lettering done on the back of the stone?

Yes, however, all of the lettering on the front of the stone at the time of order is included in the original price, but any lettering done to the back is additional.

6. Do you go put the date of death on a stone?

Yes, regardless who you bought the stone from, we can go to the gravesite and add the date of death. Call our office to place your order and get current pricing, which must be pre-paid.

7. What is Lithichrome?

Lithichrome is coloring (usually black) we spray into the lettering to give it contrast and make it outstanding. It's available for a small additional price. Over a long period of time, it may fade, but you'd still have regular engraved lettering should that happen.

8. My husband was a veteran, is there a discount?

If the veteran is deceased and served during specific war times, Fayette County offers a $75 discount and Westmoreland County, $50. Please have the discharge papers available.

9. Can I see what my stone will look like?

Within about 2 to 3 weeks after your order is placed and deposit is made, you will receive a computer print out of exactly how your stone will look. After proof-reading it and making any necessary changes, you return the proof to our home office (Davis Monuments). No engraving is started until it meets with your approval!

10. Can I get vases added to my stone?

We have vases that compliment any stone color that can be added to the top of the base. 4 to 5 inch clearance is needed on the side. If the stone has rocky sides, 5 inch is required, unless the vases are put towards the corners. If there is no base, or not enough room, we offer sub-surface vases where a cylinder is installed into the ground and the vase sits on top of it.

11. What size stone do I need?

Single stones (for 1 person) normally are sized from about 1 ft 4" across, up to about 2 ft. (1'6", 1'10", & 2') and double stones (for 2 people) are sized 2' 6" up to 5 '. Most double stones are 2'6", 3', or 3'6".

12. Are there any additional charges I need to be aware of?

No. The prices we quote are inclusive of everything, which includes the lettering, foundation, and installation. And ... there is no sales tax on memorials.

13. Do you service my cemetery?

We cover ALL of the cemeteries in Fayette, Greene, Westmoreland and Monongalia Counties.
